Title
Centers and Institutes Policy
Abstract
Campbell University encourages partnerships within, across, and beyond its academic units that maximize the capacities of the University and the academic units to address complex problems of importance to North Carolina, the nation, and the world. Such partnerships may take the form of centers and institutes. Centers and institutes are particularly effective structures when efforts require cross-disciplinary or cross-unit coordination. Centers and institutes, when formed, should result in strengthened and enriched programs around the core missions of research, service, and instruction; enhanced opportunities for faculty, staff, and students; heightened economic impact in underserved communities; and a reduction in duplication within the University. The terms "academic units," "colleges," and "schools" are used interchangeably in this policy and have the same meanings.
