About

Dr. Tina Thornhill is the Vice-Chair of Experiential and Professional Education in the Department of Pharmacy Practice. She is a 1991 graduate of the Campbell University School of Pharmacy and completed a residency in geriatrics and long-term care with Campbell University at the Methodist Retirement Community in Durham, NC. In 1992, she was the Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Geriatrics at the VA Medical Center in Salem, VA. In 1996, she returned to Campbell as a full-time faculty member precepting students at Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston-Salem. She was appointed Vice-Chair for Professional Education in 2015 and assumed the responsibility of Vice-Chair for Experiential Education in 2019. During her tenure, she has chaired and served on many University, College, and Department Committees including, but not limited to Curriculum, Student Conduct & Professionalism, Assessment, and Experiential Education. Her clinical areas of interest are numerous but favor geriatric medicine and neurology. Her professional interests include preceptor and professional development, and experiential education. Dr. Thornhill has been recognized several times as “Preceptor of the Year” and “Teacher of the Year.” She is a Board Certified Geriatric Pharmacist, a Fellow member of ASCP, a steering committee member of the OAAA, and a member of AACP and NCAP. She is also the Editor-in-Chief for the North Carolina Pharmacist.
