Personal profile

About

Dr. Davis is an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice with CPHS. He has been with Campbell University since 1989 and has maintained an internal medicine clinical practice site at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem. He currently provides clinical services to the 19-bed Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) Unit. Campbell pharmacy students spend an 8 week internal medicine clerkship with him on the ACE unit and provide patient monitoring, admission and discharge medication reconciliation and patient education to those patients. His research interests are centered on his patient population which is elderly patients with acute medical needs. Many of these problems arise from polypharmacy and pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic changes that occur in the elderly. He is always looking for better ways to evaluate an elder's medication needs and finding better ways to reduce inappropriate medications. He is also interested in resident and student training improvements.
