About

Dr. Truffin joined Campbell’s English Department in 2011 after teaching at colleges and universities in Georgia, Illinois, and Ohio. Her primary scholarly interests are Modern American Fiction, Gothic literature, and Women’s Literature, but she has taught courses in Advanced Grammar and Composition, Editing, the History of the English Language, Postcolonial Literature, and the World Novel. Her publications include the book Schoolhouse Gothic and articles on James Baldwin, Joyce Carol Oates, Stephen King, Chuck Palahniuk, and the television show The X-Files. Dr. Truffin received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Baldwin-Wallace College, her Master of Arts degree from Cleveland State University, and her Ph.D. from Loyola University Chicago.
